The day before my first trip to Europe, I decided I should buy a camera to take with me. I went to a pawn shop in South Philly and purchased a used Canon AE-1. I didn't intentionally buy a film camera, instead of a digital. It was just that it was the camera I saw my father use when I was growing up. It was familiar to me.
That was the starting point for me. It was the beginning of my obsession with cameras and creating images. It changed my life. In many ways, I feel like I'm just getting started as I figure out who I am and what my perspective is. Not only as a storyteller, but also as a human, as a husband, and as a father.
I'm still learning.
I'm still growing.
I'm still searching.
